At Douglas, Nevada, south of Stewart, the Virginia & Truckee train from Reno on the Carson City-Minden branch passes an abandoned section house. Giant trees about five times as tall as the locomotive dwarf the train. Clegg made an exceptional image, wedding a dramatic landscape with a small train emitting an iconic and giant plume of black smoke. Collection of the California State Railroad Museum, BC3133
