The Great Great Grandfather Snail.

It cannot be remembered where it came from, the Great Great Grandfather Snail.
No one knows how it happened; they weren’t there, the Great Great Grandfather Snail. You have one, probably two you never knew. Time has passed, emerged from its spiral and is already going backwards passed you. The Great Great Grandfather Snail's home shell was picked up after it was finished with in a forest in Germany. Then travelled in a pocket to a small island in the north and was gifted away and awaits news as time fades away.

Finlay Taylor works with snails, books, butterflies, print, caterpillars, drawing, woodlice, moving image, pupae, wood, colour and glue. He lives and works in London and his practice looks at natural history and specific species it cannot escape entanglement with environmental issues, it doesn’t want to.
He has exhibited widely and has curated exhibitions that look at landscape and environment often collaborating with others. His works are held in collections including Tate Special Collections, National Art Library V&A Museum, Oxford Brookes, Poetry Library London, British Library, and Yale Collection.
