This painting emerged from fear—fear of death. There is a ghost-like figure in the center. In the lower left
there is a squirrel. In the lower right corner there is a fetus in-utero. My daughter was pregnant and due
very soon when I painted this. My fear of death overshadowed the excitement I should have felt for my
pregnant daughter.
