The more than 3 million acres that have burned in California this year are the direct result of climate change. Our planet heating up is due to human intervention, mainly from burning fossil fuel and deforestation, which releases carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. If we are to have any hope at reversing the course of rapidly degrading ecological systems, we must first listen to and believe in the climate scientists who’ve been sounding the warning for decades. While the Trump administration and governments around the world continue to accelerate fossil fuel production and infrastructure, it is up to us to radically transform how we live on our planet and see climate as the deciding factor in every major election.
