Thirsty Pheasant

[BPA2021-038]

I settled down to wait for the garden birds to visit the pond. The usual bunch turn up on a daily basis - Robins, Blackbirds, Crows, Sparrows and Jays. On this day, the Pheasant that I had been willing to come closer for days, finally jumped up on the side and had a good long drink. He had been fighting with his rivals for several days so he looks dishevelled and tired. I was pleased to see him this close and all the new feathers beginning to growing. The Late April morning sun shimmered on his beautiful colours. After his drink he went off on his rather triumphant pheasant way with his newly won wife.
