Oil Paint on Cradled Birch Wood Panel

This is a painting of 2 boys I met in Havana, Cuba, and their dog. I asked if I could take their photo. One boy was eager, the other was suspicious. I wanted to capture their friendship, but also the one boy's ambivalence, and the dog who is in motion between one state of being to another. We are all part of each other's story. How we relate to each other affects those stories in the moment, as well as how those stories move forward into the rest of the world.
