Artist Statement
Often I find that the landscapes surrounding us offer metaphors for our lives, in particular our journey through life. My work explores how our environments become part of us as we move metaphorically and physically through our landscapes. Few events in our journey are as profound as the entrance to motherhood, the beginning of a new relationship, a new path, a new landscape. While no road is ever straight and often we encounter twists and turns, my challenge is to represent our relationships through landscape as a means of celebration. We form bonds. We share connections.
We live.
