Following a breakup with my first love of 2 years, I found myself experiencing feelings of extreme betrayal that I could only relate to leaving the faith. Scrambling to find footing, navigating a new world that was foreign to me- I used these self portraits as a tool to regain power over myself, putting my body on display, betraying the ideals of both the faith and my relationship.
