As an artist, I am driven by a deep fascination with our visual media culture, the profound impact of loss on the human experience, and crafting reconstructed memories through psychological portraiture. My practice transcends conventional figurative traditions, offering a contemplative exploration through fictional portraits and embracing the aesthetics of post-internet culture, weaving in references to graffiti, social media, social activism, technology, and pop culture. and media’s transformative impact on identity. Employing hybrid processes, I intertwine form and response and the convergence of contemporary art technologies with traditional processes. Typically, my process starts with creating works on my iPhone using a variety of photography, art, and animation apps. Then work is pushed to my desktop, it is developed further, integrating a variety of technologies, algorithms, and occasionally AI-determined patterns. Physical works are finished with drawing, and painting tools and processes. Experimental videos are playful mixes of my art, photography, animation and audio. The result is a body of technically innovative and emotionally impactful work, inviting viewers to engage with my developing subjects and reflect on their own experiences and emotions. I aim to create a dialogue between the individual and the collective, using my art to explore the relationship between memory and identity and to develop a deeper and more nuanced understanding of the human condition.
