Perdita Dreams

Creating is a priviledge. Making art is an honour.
It is my belief that manifesting a ‘thing’ is a responsibility to create an offering, something that will move the viewer, honour the environment and perpetuate curiosity. I am a multi media artist who currently dedicates my time to wire sculpture, exploring the nature of transparency and solidity and the role of light and shadow.

We are living in a time of Dream deficit. All that is heavy and dark, cold and frightening is surrounding us. Countries at war. Families uprooted. Children abandoned. Dreams undreamt.

I am working on a series of children who despite this darkness are still able to dream. Their vulnerability and innocence allows them to hold onto their light. This light allows them to dream themselves towards sanctuary. Perdita Dreams exhibits this power. She clearly lives a traumatic life yet her strength and resilience manifests her dream into golden ‘reality’.

If we believe deeply enough in the dream, can it not become the reality?

“The world of reality has its limits; the world of imagination is boundless.” Jean-Jacques Rousseau 18th Century France
