In “Athabasca's Grace,” I strive to capture the breathtaking beauty of Athabasca Falls in Jasper National Park. As an artist, it's always a challenge to convey the natural splendor of such a scene, and I’ve been wanting to paint these falls for some time. Despite multiple visits to the spot, I hadn't been fortunate enough to encounter the perfect lighting conditions until now. Finally on my last trip, the falls were bathed in sunlight, allowing me to portray their true majesty. I aim to depict the interplay of warm and cool light as it dances across the rugged cliffs when the sunlight illuminates the falls. The rocks take on deep purples and mauves, enhancing the scene's allure and capturing its essence.
