Mischtechnik, Collage aus Hayterdrucken

The artist Margrit Hefft-Michel draws from an infinite amount of imagination and knits ever new narratives from it. As motifs, even the amorphous shadow on a stone wall is enough for her to invent entire gnome and fairy worlds. The work "Erwartung" is part of a large-scale book project. Entitled "The Moonflower - an absurd fairy tale", the artist tells of the princess's search for the flower that can restore the world to health. Here the fairy plays a crucial role. Although the artist has mastered a whole range of artistic techniques, it is the Hayter print - a printing technique that can produce multicolored unique prints on one plate - with which she has experimented the most in recent years. She cuts out individual elements from the seemingly failed print sheets and assembles them into unique collages. In this respect, she is happy about her home in Starnberg, where she not only has her studio with the large printing press, but also the space to spread out and experiment with her sheets. She has used the Corona time to concentrate on the book project. In it, not only will her talent for creating entirely historical landscapes come to light, but also parts of her artistic development will be processed. It is therefore a semi-fictional - semi-autobiographical work that will be illustrated with drawings, prints and collages.
