Between 1975 and 1978 the communist rulers of the Khmer Rouge brutally murdered about 2 million people (25% of the population of Cambodia at that time) belonging to different ethnic and religious groups, among whom were not only Vietnamese and Chinese refugees, but also, Muslim, Buddhist and Christian locals.
