150 x 98 x 2.5 cm (h x w x d)

Carl Stumpf was a very talented musician, playing around five instruments in different perfection. His first wish was to make music to his profession. Then, however, he experienced Franz Brentano in his post-doctoral lecture and, because of this enthusiasm sparked in him, switched from studying law to philosophy. Ultimately, he became a tone psychologist. Nevertheless, music continued to bring him happiness: while making music in Göttingen he met his later wife Hermine Biedermann (1849-1930), who gave him three children and a happy marriage in Würzburg, 1878 that lasted a lifetime.
