Watercolour on watercolour paper

This piece shows a frog character of Montero’s at a job interview. It narrates the notion that social media has evolved to become a reliable source for further employment for artists. The tie between social media and employment outside of the online world is beneficial to artists with a large fanbase. These fanbases have grown to become a reliable source for employers to look at when commissioning artists. The legitimacy of Instagram and other platforms have grown considerable in the recent years. The frog character seen in the comic is recurring through many of Montero’s pieces and is well known to his followers. Montero’s flashy style has been featured on merchandise for Mac Demarco and Kurt Vile.
