Oswald Külpe was appointed to the University of Würzburg on September 28, 1894. Only a few weeks later, he began teaching in the winter semester of 1894/95.

When he was appointed to Würzburg, an annual salary of 4560 marks was contracted with the university. In addition, he obtained examination fees. In later years he received calls to chairs in Münster, Palo Alto, Bonn, Munich and Vienna.
