Io ballo da sola - special mention
45 x 30 x 2.5 cm (h x w x d)
Oil on Linen Canvas

A reminder of the fight against all oppression of women, a tribute of profound significance for the female universe, especially in this dramatic situation in which violence, oppression and offenses against women together, unfortunately, are still a sad record. Goodness, love, altruism, now become engines that free the dancer, who personifies the woman, a no longer fragile, delicate and weak dancer imprisoned on the music box of everyday life. That woman entrenched and forced to dance every day according to the will of someone or something, a slave to prejudice and even worse to violence, and unable to express her being as she would like, to impose herself in life as she deserves. Here is now the woman breaks these patterns; is freed from her golden prison, showing her in her true being that she chooses to dance without taboos, to feel freer, to sweep off her toes to wear sneakers to run faster when there is to run, regardless of what tied her to that base, to that life which was nothing but her inner death.
