I wanted to explore and develop the concept of utilising individuals key facial features to display my message of being someone you’re not. This final artwork is a series of portrait photos, printed in various sized frames. The intention behind these works was to reveal to my audience what people look like when pretending to be someone they’re not. The individuality of the frames all being different helps convey my message to the viewers. The use of tattoos, earrings, facial hair and expressions create such diversity when viewed next to each other, that the audience are forced to see the lack of resemblance between all identities as a result of my presentation. I highlighted the difference in the key facial features of each subject as they are the focal point of my overarching theme being identity. As you the audience view this series, you can’t help but notice the individuality of peoples characters, which is the intention of my works.
