Danger , 2021
95 x 143 cm (h x w)

This artwork displays a rough, side on Great White Shark using charcoal, accompanied with a blue marbled background and contemporary news articles. Depicting the shark side-on, with the variety of articles relating to shark attacks allowed me to denote fear more effectively. By overlaying the articles in Photoshop, along with decreasing opacities I was able to appropriately display all of their contents while maintaining the entire appearance of the shark. This portrays the idea that the shark is swimming through the marbling, allowing the viewer to interpret the work as fascinating as it depicts the ambiguity of the ocean.
