Joanna’s work ranges from traditional printing techniques of etching, aquatint and takuhon to digital printing techniques and photography.

She is curious to explore the area when the figurative becomes abstracted, often working with attention to accidental or improvised mark making.

Her work in concerned with time, and the relationship between human activity and the natural world.

Joanna was recently announced winner of the Nasdaq Art Competition 2021. She recently exhibited in The Royal Society of British Artists 2021 at The Mall Galleries, and had work accepted into the Figurative Art Now Competition of the Federation of British Artists, 2021. Her work 'Light on Earth' has been accepted into The Printmaker's Council 'Ecologies of Change' exhibition at The Royal Overseas League September - November 2021. She has previously exhibited at The Woolwich Contemporary Art Fair, The Grange Festival, Glyndebourne’s Gallery 94. Her work has been auctioned at The Sotheby Institute. Her photographs have been accepted into the Earth Photo Competition 2021 at The Royal Geographical Society, London and are being shown in numerous forests throughout the UK.

She was a finalist in the Visual Art Open 2020, Holt Festival 2020, John Hurt Art Prize 2020, Glyndebourne Touring Art Competition 2019.
Joanna has worked as a professional singer for many years but decided to retrain and in 2018 when was awarded a grant by The Equity Charitable Trust for a Masters in fine art at Central Saint Martins. She is currently on ‘time out’ for medical reasons, but will return to resume and complete her studies in summer 2022.
