Roz Edenbrow’s work explores collected, found and serendipitous marks through screen printing, monoprinting and mixed media.

An avid collector of ephemera, including old postcards, scrap books and notes found on the street, she is interested in the marks and traces of forgotten everyday things. Whether it is a carefully curated scrap book from a charity shop or a paint spill in B&Q; physical and photographic collected imagery translate into her prints.

Edenbrow is inspired by botanical forms, through their occurrences in the vintage imagery she has collected. Flowers have become a repeated motif in her prints. Combining these collected marks and floral elements alongside flat geometric shapes, Edenbrow uses layering and pentimento within her process. Found and repurposed imagery is brought into focus with sketches, halftone images and gestural marks through a combination of screen and monoprinting.

Edenbrow’s recent print series, ‘Cascade’, specifically draw inspiration from collected pen tester pages from stationary shops in London. What do people draw when they are idly scribbling to test a pen? These prints explore how the layering and combination of these impulsive marks create something serendipitously collaborative.

Edenbrow graduated from Brighton University in 2012 with a BA in Graphic Design.
