Corin’s work explores her interest in Tribal art through relief printing. She is particularly drawn to the cultural and spiritual influences on the art of tribal groups with a specific preoccupation in African cultural practices.
Originating from Zimbabwe and South Africa she currently works from her home in Crystal Palace, SE London, creating hand printed relief works from her studio/living room. Using the rudimentary techniques of Lino print, Corin’s graphic characters in black and white boldly capture the sense of the strange and unknown. Her characters are imbued rhythmic dynamism each with their own strong sense of personality.
Tribal masks and Dancers is a limited edition series of 20 featuring 19 characters.
Corin has a degree in Photography. She has participated in numerous exhibitions both here in the UK and in South Africa whilst working as a photographer. A particular career highlight has to be the commission of a gift for Oprah Winfrey by Anglo American for the opening of ‘O’ magazine, South Africa.
Recent years have seen her return to her love of analogue and the handmade with a focus on print making. She is currently working on a new series 'Icons of our times' which will be ready for exhibition in November.
