Much of Christine Mabileau‘s work is illustrative, reflecting a fascination with how we, as humans, reveal our dreams or the poetic, and with the ways in which word and image may weave together to expand and enrich our vision and imagination.
In these etchings, she explores the fluidity and elusiveness of life, assessing the intimacy of the human mind in a sensitive quest for lightness and versatility.
Music is always a great source of inspiration and joy, along with the musicality of words and in Christine’s work, the darkness of the ink exudes light and shapes the ever-evolving process of the idea rising from the depths, emerging to the surface and slowly revealing its truth.
These prints are part of a collaborative work with composer Antimo Magnotta during lockdown 2021.
She took part in a group exhibition at RK Burt Gallery in June 2018 and in the Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair 2020 on line.
