Mark Nikitin (art name - Mark Nikki), a young Russian artist, is interested in depicting his impressions of the nature of the Russian North and the urbanism of the North.
Inspired by the avant-garde art of the late 19th - 20th centuries, especially the expressive art of Germany and Northern Europe, Mark in his print and graphics tries to convey his vision of the modern North in all its diversity: from love for eternal nature to the problems of a modern city in the Russian North: environmental pollution, correlation of the rhythm of life of an individual and the rhythm of life of a faceless city.
Some of these problems are expressed in monotype triptych - one of the artist's favorite printing techniques: "To the Sun". These monotypes, shown here for the first time, show the artist's special perception of the space of the North - a unique geographical place that today is experiencing a special human influence. But at the same time, northern nature to this day remains pristine, as if not noticing the presence of man - completely primitive, wild and beautiful. The main symbol here is the sun - a single symbol of the existence of both eternal nature and modern human.
Mark Nikitin is a self-taught artist, a young artist interested in various printing techniques, primarily monotyping. Mark is a participant in two solo exhibitions and a number of collective projects, including international ones (an international print exhibition in Manhattan Graphic Center in 2021).
