Lucy Cooper is a printmaker who creates limited edition screenprints as well as digitally-developed photographic prints. Her current work considers the themes of reflection and revisiting.

Lucy’s prints are characterised by uplifting colour palettes which evoke memories of much-loved places or moments of reflection. She explores interesting yet often unexpected combinations of colour and shape to reinterpret familiar sights in a semi-abstract style.

A passionate photographer, the starting point of Lucy’s screenprints is invariably a sight she has captured on her travels, being particularly drawn to the light and feel of sunny locations or inspired by the changing colours and patterns made by water. Combining these with abstract elements and calligraphic influences, she enjoys using the screenprint process to develop colour and shape, while still conveying the original sense of place.

Lucy has exhibited in a number of galleries and group exhibitions in London and now shows her work at Chalk Gallery in Lewes.
