Lindsey has a keen interest in the relationship between printmaking and photography. Since her research fellowship, ‘Investigating the role of the computer in fine art Printmaking’, combining different processes has driven the direction of her work.
Photopolymer etching allows her to produce textures and detail she is unable to achieve using any single process. It allows for the creation of a continuous tone, fine detail and rich blacks; resulting in prints that reproduce the characteristics and uninterrupted qualities of photography.
These techniques are reflected in her work, which is inspired by the endless possibilities afforded as light changes during both the day and year. In particular, her work explores the impact of light in both architectural and organic contexts; whilst at the same time being created by a process that is itself entirely dependent on light exposure.
