Cancer , 2019
34 x 39 in (h x w)

"Cancer" is a portrait of my Dad. When the call for entry for Sacred Threads was announced, I began searching for the polaroid photograph my mother took the last time I saw my Dad alive. As the viewer can see, cancer transformed my father's physical being dramatically. While his body was being eaten away, his mind and his personality remained unaffected. He remains with me in spirit.
