This pair of earrings features crescent moons with one smiling face and one sad face attached to shepherd's hook piercings. It belonged to Linda Tzang, a first-generation Chinese Canadian who immigrated to Canada from Taiwan at five. As a teenager in the 1980s following the New Romantic Style, Linda never wore these earrings as a pair. She either wore them singly or wore both in one ear. Crescent moons were a popular fashion motif of the late 1980s, but Linda styled the pair in her own way to create unique self-expression.
