Entangled networks of connection

All is part of the whole.

A contradictory tendency to divide and separate,

Define like with like.

White light is a unity of colours, bands of a rainbow spectrum subtly merged, fuzzy edges.

Red orange yellow green blue indigo violet

Our senses take in bite sized pieces. The limitation of our brain to make sense of the world.

By classifying, defining, we compute, analyse, try to make sense of.

We classify ourselves into social structures, organisations, movements.

What is Art?

Inside/ Outside or a space in between or a merging of all creativity?

These thoughts germinated through creating this piece, derived from a project with young people at Stoneside Short Breaks Service, Glasgow, while synchronously researching Joyce Laing's collection of Outside Art now part of Glasgow Museums Collection.

Together, we made 8 sculptures each of a single colour using recycled material, to be installed in their garden in Springtime.

This work is a digital composite of images of these sculptures.
