Nicked named, "The Mother of All" meaning the beginning of mystical painting. It was the first in a sequence of dark paintings, mystically illuminated by an unknown light origin. I remember one evening while staring at this work, when a rather frightening, but enlightened thought came to mind. Quite naively, I had always thought that all creative expression, painting in my case, was white. That is, originating from all that is good in the human spirit. I became unnerved when it occurred to me that this painting could be for the edification of the dark side of humanity. My thinking was resolved by the conclusion that we carry both sides inside of us and that, yes, people can be inspired by the dark. This painting marked the beginning of a journey to explore the origin of this mystical light.
