In the pristeen wilderness of Snowdon Park in Minden Hills pre-Christmas 2020 an opportunity for what I call "Snow -brush
en plein air" painting untavelled . Warmly seated on a comfortable stool in -2 degrees I painted in oils in the crispy cold air with double gloved hands until snowflakes began to fall. I experienced for the first time ... my oils turning into an oatmeal mixture. I did continue with a little added walnut alkyd until the snow got heavier, so I finished on another clear day just as the sun began to break through the limbs of the trees.
