Color pigment on Jangji
[20220222-003]

The world of Ji-soo Lee's artwork, which spreads out in blue on Jangji (a type of Korean traditional papers), floats somewhere between chance and intention.
The unpredictability of the direction in which the pigment will extend creates an uncertain landscape once again, in this way, the full blue color in the work appears as a color of hope encompassing both the sea and the sky.
Artist Ji-soo Lee, who perfectly clings to her emotion to the work, makes use of drawing techniques reminiscent of Jidoobeop of the oriental painting through hand-painting.
This plays a role in bringing warmth to all parts of the work, which is ingrained with static colors.
Each time the artist draws a stroke with her fingers, each blue color in the painting takes a different voice respectively.
Viewers cannot tell whether the line in front of them is a trace of the wind or a tender grass leaf, but they will come to realize that the rhythm of time and space that the artist fills is a metaphor for the whole life.
