I’ve painted this lotus for my younger sister who loves lotus flowers. She always loved them for the calmness and stillness they bring her. I’ve chosen the main colours of white, for purity; and various shades of green, to bring a cooling and serene atmosphere to the painting. Art is all encompassing to me; how what I learn carries on into my daily life and allows me to notice the small, beautiful details around me. It has always brought me to a place of safety and calm, and I hope this painting can bring the same sense to its viewers.
