Turning Blind to Stares , 2022
36 x 24 x 3 in (h x w x d)

''A self independent woman has many battles. There are inherent ones that we are born with, and some we fight living our everyday life. From society, conventions, inequality these battles are sometimes happening in our own minds as well. Sometimes we are learning to enjoy our own company which is the first part of being self independent. But that sometimes can take us to a path where we need to learn to fight depression, self doubt and our ambitions evolving everyday. It can feel like drowning in the dry land. While all these are happening, we fight with our own beliefs to take a clear look at ourselves, to hold on to a positive body image against all comments and learn to ignore the stares that follows whenever we take charge of our life. These watercolor painting series reflects on these aspects of struggles that are with us everyday as we march on to become self sufficient, as we become independent.'
