One Day , 2022
230 x 150 cm (h x w)
Collage using Recycled paper, beeswax, ink, gouache and acrylic paint

"One day, after I am a daffodil, I will be able to photosynthesize." - Robin Wall Kimmerer, Braiding Sweetgrass.
The first in what will be a series of collages, this piece is inspired by Robin Wall Kimmerer’s book Braiding Sweetgrass. It is hope and it is a call to action. One day, just by being, we will be able to do the “work of the world" just by standing in the sun; we will be able to just be, and joyfully, effortlessly, give back to the earth. But until then we must make a conscious and distinct effort to reciprocate the gifts the earth has given us.
