‘Take part in my earnest prayer that the Children may grow up, as they have begun, in innocence.’ -Dorothy Wordsworth

This photograph was taken in 1890 in front of the cottage at Blindtarn Gill, more than 80 years after the tragedy. John was then aged 89 and Hannah 83. Dorothy’s fears that baby Hannah would not long survive her mother proved to be unfounded.
