anthill
42 x 59.4 cm (h x w)
Pen on Paper

anthill refers to birth but further reflects the journey of a lifetime it initiates thereafter. This work reflects order and chaos alike, aiming to mesmerize the viewer. The simplicity of fineliner on paper allows the composition to move into the foreground essentially allowing for individual interpretations of the work. There is an innate dissonance between the childlike curiosity that arises when being confronted with the visual of ants and the discomfort felt when visualizing real ants.
