“From my palette presenting my perspective. The divine Assyrian mind, which is represented with gold leaf in this painting, is far from the root that is erecting from the ruins, but it is aimed towards and views the energy from the spiral “khotra” which conveys both the hidden and visible message of Assyrian beliefs from the past and present. The “khotra” is standing upright reaching from the core to heaven, directing to the path. The transformation is distracted in the middle part of the figure, and a shadow of a cross and crucifixion can be observed when looking at the left side of the painting, representing the suffering of this nation."

Agnes had interest in drawing and painting since childhood. She studied oil painting, color techniques, layering and tone analysis through observation from Assyrian Iraqi artist Adwar Alrsam and Iraqi art teacher Tariq Mekhail. Agnes later worked in a gallery in Baghdad where she was given the creative freedom to play with paint and sell her work after graduating from the Institute of Technology, Baghdad. In New Zealand, she attended life drawing workshops and has experimented with new artistic techniques. Her practice spans through different abstract art technique and styles.
