Dog and derelict phone box, Wester Hailes, 1979

My work, in one form or another, is at the National Portrait Gallery, Tate Britain Library, the National Art Library at the V&A, the V&A Museum of Childhood, Liverpool Museum, la Bibliothèque Nationale de France and the Library at the University of California, San Diego.

In 1979 I had a grant from the Scottish Arts Council (as was) to live and work on the Wester Hailes estate and work with kids at the new local school. 'Snowy' used to stand on this pyramid every afternoon and wait for his kids to come out of school. This work was recently published as a book, available here: https://www.johnwalmsleyphotos.co.uk/-/galleries/store/wester-hailes-boo...
