Artist Statement

This photo named Burlesque Beauty is my representation of a mature woman who embodies a sense of great confidence and awareness of how she feels within.

I went with using a classic black and white look to help bring out her beauty from the shadows. The model wanted to embody Marilyn Monroe by wearing a corset for sex appeal along with nice jewelry to give a sense that she is high class.

Classic movie stars like Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn and Lucille Ball all showed us that they looked great from their younger years into their mature days and I really wanted to show that beauty is ageless. Not all models need to be young to represent the average gorgeous woman but instead all woman, at any age, can look beautiful.
