Artist Statement

This is a British Columbia Raspberry Coca-Cola bottle with a purple aura. The image includes the elements of line, shape, colour, and space. The lighting I used to create this image includes a low background light with a grid and purple gel. To get the thin white lines on the outer part of the bottle I used two lights with strip softboxes on them. The lights are almost behind the bottle at a slight angle. The fill on the front of the bottle was created using a white card. My image was inspired by a Heineken beer bottle photo I came across. I chose to recreate this image using raspberry Coca-Cola because of its unique shape and colour. I really loved the warmth that a background light gave the cold pop bottle. I also really like how the plain black background and silhouette gives simplicity to the drink that is usually surrounded by the fun and chaos of a summer day.
