Artist Statement

The sparkling ice grapefruit drink is light pink. I feel excited to smell the sense of grapefruit. I chose a contrast between dark and light grapes. Also, the lemon intertwines with the grapefruit drink. I feel the photograph gives an energy and mood of the summertime. The subject matter is colour, foam and texture. I used positive and negative space to emphasize the glass. I placed the vegetables and fresh fruit around the glass. I also added some moss grass around the glass to remind the viewers of summer. I used light techniques with the backlight and main light directed to the glass to emphasize the ice-cold beverage. I captured the cold beverage photograph because cold beverages help me relax. I feel people like to clear their minds and be carefree in the summer season. The image of a cold beverage is refreshing, and viewers will want to enjoy a cocktail in the summertime.

Artist Bio

I am Ali Shoaib Siddiqui. Photography is my passion; ever since I picked up my first DSLR, I have wanted to photograph precious moments to remember forever. I especially like to take pictures of weddings. I have been studying portrait photography and product photography at Humber College since 2019. I like to capture portraits with different poses and show expression through the photograph. I connect to different people with my emotion-provoking images.
