STORY:
The Kingston area is renowned for paranormal activity. Nearly all the locals have ghost stories to tell. I had to check it out and this clear, moonless night provided the perfect conditions for astro-photography. While shooting here, I saw what looked like a lamp swinging back and forth on the reef that protects Slaughter Bay. I don’t know what it was, but I figured if it was out on the reef, I was safe.
A long exposure in a camera can capture colour and definition far better than the human eye. On this amazing starry night, the only artificial light I used was my head torch, just to illuminate some of the foreground detail. All the other colour in the sky is courtesy of the universe. The green band on the horizon is from the southern lights.
