這件表演行為藝術的作品是藝術家謝德慶在1978年9月30日至1979年9月29日所創作。他把自身困在木籠内，公眾也能在每天參觀木籠。在表演結束後，他在牆上刻上366條計數日期的符號及「SAM HSIEH 93078-92979」一字。
作品是利用符號的方式去表達時間的流逝，他把整個與時間相處的過程供人們觀賞，讓人們重新把焦點放在時間上。
This is a piece of performance art by Tehching Hsieh spanning a year between September 30, 1978 and September 29, 1979. The artist put himself into a wooden cage for the public to visit him daily. After the performance, 366 scratches counting the days of his self-induced imprisonment and the code that read "SAM HSIEH 93078-92979" are left on the walls of the cell.
Using a symbolic way of expression, the artist represents the passage of time and the entire process of his intimate engagement with time in his art piece to draw the attention of the audience to contemplate the nature of time.
