This illustration seeks to showcase the beauty and growth of women in Chemistry, depicting female scientists’ nurturing nature as they experiment and create. Just as women are able to create life, they are also able to create new chemical compounds and make new discoveries in the world of Chemistry. The flowers growing on the vines and the molecules in the petri dishes are of the Corannulene molecule - which signifies the nurturing nature and growth of women in Chemistry. In this illustration, I hope to portray the femininity and beauty of female scientists through the use of a soft colour palette and elegant brush strokes; and capture the fun and creativity of Chemistry through the multi-coloured chemicals bubbling and flowing in glassware of different shapes and sizes.
