Praca koła naukowego BAPOS zawiera serię animowanych grafik wygenerowanych na podstawie wzorów opisujących zbiory Mandelbrota i Julii oraz transferu stylu wybranych obrazów Vincent van Gogha przez sieć neuronową. Holenderski malarz, jak wielu innych artystów, zawarł w swoich obrazach motywy fraktalne, które tworzą uporządkowane struktury. Czy gdyby miał okazję zobaczyć współcześnie generowane fraktale, sięgnąłby z zachwytu po pędzel?

What does the combination of mathematics and art look like as interpreted by artificial intelligence? The ability of computers to perform demanding mathematical calculations has opened the door to a wider exploration of number sets. The work of the BAPOS research group includes a series of animated graphics generated from formulas describing the sets of Mandelbrot and Juliet and the style transfer of selected paintings by Vincent van Gogh through a neural network. The Dutch painter, like many other artists, included fractal motifs in his paintings, which form ordered structures. If he had the opportunity to see contemporary generated fractals, would he have reached for his paintbrush in delight?
