Mikkel was born in 1996 and originally started at GAIA Design and GAIA FotoGrafik. Since January 2021, he has been working at GAIA Academy.

Mikkel works with figures, creatures, monsters and other individuals that are drawn or modeled. He makes stories with pictures in hand-drawn books. Mikkel's world is a bubbly humorous and colorful interpretation of the world with inspiration from comics, cartoons, manga stories and games.

GAIA Academy is an art academy and museum. Since the creation of the GAIA Museum Outsider Art in 2002, the idea has been to run an international museum of outsider art and a cultural enterprise with productive and imaginative workshops, where both parts of the organization show how diverse the expression is and how high quality is created by neurodiverse artists.

GAIA Akademi are based in Randers, Denmark.
