Untitled #8
Darkroom Enlargements

Over the course of the past year Oliveia Bartlett has explored and experimented with a range of different materials and techniques to portray the Anthropocene and the natural forms within landscapes through the use of different photographic techniques which push the boundaries within photography into more of the fine art genre. Within her work, she aims to create a sublime feeling while considering the phenomenological perceptions of the human experience.

Oliveia has used a range of camera-less techniques to portray the uncertainty of climate change, this is shown within her series Uninhabitable, where she created hand made negatives to enlarge within the darkroom. For this series she explores the chemical reaction between traditional art supplies and household substances in which she was influenced by abstraction, organic form and textures. Her practice explores the unpredictability of nature and the destruction we as a species have on the planet.
