Oyster Row
Acrylic

I'm an intuitive acrylic artist living in Cambridge with my animal family. I'm inspired every day by nature and I love vibrant colours; I appreciate just how much being around different colours can affect my mood and energy. Some are soothing and peaceful, while others are joyful, energising or uplifting. It is my intention to harness these powerful, positive energies of colour in my work so that they can support you and your energy when you bring a piece home. The symbolism in my art can help to influence the subconscious as it speaks to it through the symbols, colours and energy I use and we could all do with a bit of help when it comes to mastering our minds. Sometimes I plan my work and at other times, I get out of the way; letting whatever energy wants to flow through me, out onto the canvas. Either way, I create from my soul and I hope it speaks to yours.

‘Oyster Row’ Acrylic on canvas 45.6cm x 61cm x 1.6cm (18” x 24”) - £575.00 unframed or £650.00 framed with a painted wooden floater frame.

When I planned to sit down and paint this piece, it was supposed to be flowers. As you can see, this bubbling underwater scene wanted to be painted instead. It is called ‘Oyster Row’ for two reasons. I imagine this is where oysters live. I see them dancing around on the bottom of the ocean, feeling their way in the underwater currents and making their sunken treasures in the depths. There is also a street in Cambridge called Oyster Row, where many moons ago Oysters were sold at Stourbridge Fair, on land close to the Leper Chapel. The cool blues and deep indigo in this piece represent depth, truth and reflection; they are calming, cooling and encourage rest and relaxation. Blue is the colour of the throat chakra which helps us to express ourselves clearly and with authenticity. Indigo represents the third eye chakra and fosters our connection with universal consciousness. With this piece, I would like to encourage introspection so that you may know yourself and be at peace with who you are. Maybe you will discover your very own sunken treasures. Dive deep, dear one.
