Plant Memories , 2021
w = 200 cm
Aluminium wire, glue and natural pigments

These networks are ‘sculptural drawings’ of found marks on the skin of avocados.
Wires are sculpted in the air and coated with mixed media, using yarns to add linear texture. The reliefs are further stained with avocado-skin-inks and sumi-e ink. Through this slow making process of added layers, I am with the plants. Trying to read the concealed message of growth and time passing. I wonder at the beaty found in these plant memories. In gratitude, I acknowledge my dependence on plants for nourishment.
